Keylong

Hidden Gem

A little more than a small hamlet, Keylong is a magical discovery.  Surrounded by small villages like Sissu, locally known as Khagling (khag means snow and ling means land) and located on the banks of Chandra River, Sissu has spectacular views of lakes and a waterfall cascading over the cliff, patched with fields of potato, peas, barley and buck wheat, it ensures you get to know there is more to Lahaul than you may already know.

If the time is right, don’t be surprised to see wild roses and other alpine flowers in different colours of red, white, yellow and blue spread on the slopes. Is there anything more you could dream of?

An ideal sojourn for a hike or a day trek towards the glaciers or the waterfall, not to forget the Siberian duck and Geese, that halt around the lake here, on their way to Siberia and other colder regions.  As good as it gets!
